Discover Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab

Our Senior Destination Executive for the Indian Ocean and the Middle East, Asher Floyd, had the privilege of visiting the brand-new Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab this week. While photography remains off-limits for now as the brand’s official photographers work their magic to capture the essence of the property, Asher’s insights and feedback offer a spectacular glimpse into what makes this yacht-inspired resort so special.

Read on to learn more about the latest addition to Jumierah’s portfolio.

As you approach Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, you'll drive along a long, scenic driveway, passing by private villas and beautiful yachts moored in the marina. When you reach the hotel entrance, you’re greeted by a gorgeous water feature and sweeping views of the Jumeirah Burj Al Arab – the perfect prelude to the resort's impressive lobby. Unlike other properties across Dubai, the lobby for me had a more intimate feel, with private alcove seating areas along the left-hand side, offering guests a sense of exclusivity and relaxation while they check in.

What truly sets Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab apart is its expansive outdoor space. Lush greenery and tranquil features create a serene atmosphere throughout the property. With private areas tucked away across the resort, I know it’ll never feel overcrowded – even when it’s at full capacity.

The resort boasts 11 restaurants, 9 of which are proudly owned and run by Jumeirah. Each restaurant offers a unique experience, with standout options like 'The Fore,' home to 'The Bombay Club,' 'Umi Kei' (a Japanese restaurant), and 'Madame Li,' which serves exquisite Pan-Asian dishes complete with handwritten menus. On top of that, 'Mirabelle' offers a chic French brasserie experience while 'Orizonta' delights with Eastern Mediterranean cuisine. What’s amazing is that these restaurants transform from day to night with movable walls and changing décor, so even if you visit the same one twice in one day, it’ll feel like a totally different restaurant with a different atmosphere.

Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab takes a slightly different approach by offering Bed & Breakfast as standard, which means guests are free to enjoy the resort's exceptional dining options outside of a more regimented dining programme. For those seeking a more private dining experience, there are plenty of secluded spaces to choose from that would be perfect for this.

From what I saw during my visit, dining al fresco is a must here and it’s possible at every restaurant. Mirabelle's outdoor terrace overlooks the marina, and I thought it had a distinctly South of France-style ambiance. For something really special, Iliana - the resort's Greek restaurant - features a rooftop terrace with a DJ area and bar, providing an exciting and cool evening experience.

When it comes to leisure, the resort has you covered with a range of pools, including a large family-friendly option, an adults-only pool, and an exclusive pool area for suite guests (which stays private and doesn't offer day passes). While the sea is inaccessible from this pool due to the rocky coastline, the resort’s private beach is open to all guests to enjoy.

The spa was another standout feature for me, set across two floors with state-of-the-art treatments like cryotherapy and recovery therapies. For those looking to stay healthy, the spa also offers a restaurant serving nourishing meals, and the indoor pool is open until sunset –  I’m told this is one of the very best spots to spend the evening if you love to admire the sun at this time of day. The gym is equipped with cutting-edge training and recovery equipment, including the world’s only Cromospace bed and an oxygen chamber designed to aid athletic recovery.

With 386 keys in total, the resort offers an array of accommodation options, with plenty of interconnecting rooms for families wishing to stay together. The Promenade Rooms, located near the kids club, are peaceful and offer easy access to nearby bars and cafes – these would be great for older people too, as it’s not far to walk to the hotel’s facilities. The Marina Rooms offer beautiful views of the Burj Khalifa and the marina, and there are also Marina Deluxe Suites with expansive views of the villas and yacht, as well as soaking tubs also with views of the marina. The Ocean Rooms have views out to the Burj Al Arab which are equally special, but I personally felt that the Marina/Promenade Rooms offered something quite unique.

For families with younger children, the kids' club intends to offer a really calming environment (something that isn’t always easy to find in a room full of little ones!) with a range of activities and an abundance of books, which I really liked the idea of. The lady in charge of the kids club is an ex-teacher, and she was so passionate about the children learning whilst also having fun and meeting new friends there.

As of mid-February 2025, Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab is in the midst of a soft opening, with finishing touches being completed ahead of the official opening on 14th March 2025. From everything I’ve seen so far, Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab is set to be a standout destination within the Jumeirah portfolio. I can’t wait to hear what our customers think of this incredible property when it officially opens!
