Themed on the ancient world's famous lost island, this phenomenal hotel could fill a book with all of the ringing celebrity endorsements it's received since its opening seven years ago. Tom Cruise, Kim Kardashian and Rita Ora are just a few of the more noticeable names to visit, but if we went on to list them you'd be reading all day. Of course, its high profile guests aren't the attraction, they're like you or I; moths drawn by the brilliant bright lights of Atlantis The Palm. Its numerous world class restaurants, exceptional leisure facilities and its marine and waterpark are out of this world, not to mention the unparalleled splendour of its rooms, all combining to make one of the most magnificent resorts the world has ever known.
Dubai is known for its architectural achievements, perhaps the most notable of which is The Palm Jumeirah. At its apex is its pièce de résistance, Atlantis The Palm.
Even from a distance, as you approach from the base of the palm, the majesty of its impressive Arabian archway captures the imagination and inspires a sense of awe that stays with you long after you've reluctantly returned home. As you'd expect, you'll be greeted and checked in by a dedicated highly trained team of staff, whose commitment to providing excellent service lives up to Atlantis' growing global reputation. So, once you've reached your room and managed to take your eyes off the mesmerising view, the only question is what to experience first. And with such an amazing array of spectacles on offer, choosing is an experience in and of itself.
Marine & Waterpark
Taking inspiration from the mythical city that sank into the sea, it's not really surprising that Atlantis has put a lot of effort into creating an experience befitting a legend that's intrigued the human imagination for thousands of years. What is surprising, though, is just how spectacularly they've managed to pull it off. From the exhilarating thrills of its winding waterslides, to magical marine encounters with Dolphins, Sea Lions, Sharks and everything in between, you could spend a fortnight exploring this water-world and still have barely scratched the surface. Aquaventure Beach allows you to soak up the sun on imported Saharan sand, while indoors the Lost Chambers Aquarium truly brings the legend of Atlantis The Palm to life.
Dining
Much like the vast range of thrills on offer, you could spend another fortnight eating at a different restaurant every night and still have several left to sample. In 2015, huge Atlantis fan and everybody's favourite foul-mouthed celebrity chef, Gordon Ramsay, opened Bread Street Kitchen at the resort, offering a seasonal British menu with European influences to add to the repertoire of delicacies on offer. Chinese, Indian, Italian, Japanese or Lebanese - if its cuisine is internationally recognised, Atlantis serves up the best each country has to offer. One particular favourite of guests, our own Destinology team included, is the award-winning Ossiano Seafood Restaurant. Offering the unique attraction of dining underwater along with a fine selection of exquisite wines and prestige tapas dishes.
Rooms & Facilities
As you can probably imagine by now, the rooms at Atlantis The Palm are every bit as captivating as the rest of the resort around them. Appointed with subtle oceanic and Arabian influences, their understated opulence complements far reaching views of the Palm Jumeirah and Dubai skyline. In the lap of such luxury, it could be appealing to spend a lot of your time in the room, but when aquatic adventure and mouth-watering food aren't luring you away, there's a range of other activities and facilities to tempt you. The ShuiQi Spa offers a tranquil list of treatments to aid relaxation, helicopter tours and boat cruises present more high octane excitement, while N'Dulge nightclub and Nasimi beach parties invite you to unwind and discover exactly why so many of the world's rich and famous are attracted to this other-worldly Arabian haven.
Imperial Club
Guests who stay in the Imperial Club Room or Atlantis' suite accommodation can enjoy the privilege of the resort's Imperial Club benefits. These include complementary access to either of Atlantis' two kids clubs, which have a range of activities tailored for kids between the ages of 3 to 12 and 10 to 17. Alongside keeping the kids entertained, the Imperial Club grants adults complimentary access to N'Dulge nightclub, two for the price of one on back neck and shoulder spa massage treatments, unlimited access to steam, sauna and jet pool facilities plus exclusive access to the Imperial Club beach. Light snacks, tea, coffee, juices and soft drinks are included throughout the day, along with complimentary access to Aquaventure Waterpark and The Lost Chambers Aquarium and return airport transfers for guests staying in suite accommodation. The Imperial Club is a luxuriously lucrative option for larger families and groups who really want to get the most out of their Atlantis experience.
All of this awaits on your adventure to Atlantis The Palm, and the fact that we haven't even mentioned any of the other amazing attractions outside of the resort in Dubai itself is testament to just how much this unforgettable resort has to offer. Where Atlantis is concerned, the truth is even more extraordinary than the legend.
