South Africa’s game reserves offer the perfect contrast of high-end luxury and untamed nature – just the right setting for a group of wealthy guests to experience both the beauty of the landscape and the tension of being perhaps a touch too far from civilisation for their liking. 

At Shamwari Private Game Reserve, guests can sip sundowners while elephants meander past, retreating to five-star lodges where every suite feels like a private oasis. Of course, in White Lotus fashion, the real drama might unfold over a tense safari drive – perhaps an overly enthusiastic guest stepping out of the vehicle at the wrong moment, or a suspicious disappearance near the watering hole…

For something even more exclusive, Tsala Treetop Lodge offers ultra-secluded residences nestled high in the canopy, a spectacular setting for whispered secrets over morning coffee on the deck. Saudi Arabian Sands: A Desert of Secrets

From the lush greenery of season 3’s Thailand to the golden expanse of the Saudi Arabian desert – now that would be a setting shift. The remote beauty of AlUla in Saudi Arabia would be an inspired choice for White Lotus season 4, with its vast sandstone cliffs and ancient Nabataean tombs providing an exquisitely dramatic backdrop.

By day, they could be meditating in canyons or indulging in locally inspired spa treatments. By night? And given the region’s emphasis on wellness, perhaps White Lotus Season 4 could introduce a character trying just a little too hard to "find themselves" – with suitably disastrous results.

Oman: Luxury and Isolation

Is there anywhere more suited to a White Lotus murder mystery than the middle of the Omani desert? At Magic Camps Wahiba Sands, with just fifteen tents per camp, any villains would have fewer places to hide than in the sprawling resorts of previous seasons. But that only adds to the intrigue.

Luxury Yacht: Murder on the High Seas?

We’ve done lavish resorts. We’ve done private island escapes. What’s next? A yacht, of course! Nothing would portray White Lotus’ signature theme of ‘opulence with a side of existential crisis’ quite like a luxury yacht. Season 4’s guests could set sail aboard one of the world’s most luxurious vessels, giving us all the glamour of a five-star resort but with the added tension of being trapped at sea.

Perhaps a Ritz-Carlton Yacht to add to the luxury brands who have hosted the cast – sleek infinity pools, Michelin-starred dining, and discreet butlers tending to every whim. Passengers would glide across their chosen seas in style, heading to the marina deck for mid-ocean dips, perhaps occasionally glancing nervously at the lifeboats. 

Bodies going overboard while unknowing guests sip champagne below deck, lapping waves masking the noise of wealthy passengers arguing in their suites, a new port of call each day for any staff to retreat to if the night’s service has been all too much. And just maybe, another White Lotus character standing alone at the railing, gazing into the abyss… before vanishing overboard. Was it an accident? A well-planned escape? Or just another casualty of too much luxury?
