Day One
Arrive at Muscat International Airport, private transfers to Jumeirah Muscat Bay where you will spend 5 nights in a Deluxe Ocean Room based on bed & breakfast.
Day Two
After enjoying breakfast at Jumeirah Muscat Bay you will start your full-day tour of Muscat with a visit to the magnificent Grand Mosque built with sandstone and marble. A beautiful Swarovski chandelier and a huge handmade Persian carpet adorn the main prayer hall. Pass through the Ministry district, before visiting the Opera House. Next, stop for a photo opportunity at Al Alam palace, the palace of the Sultan, before continuing on to admire the two Portuguese forts, Mirani and Jalali, from the outside. Move on to Bait Al Zubair Museum. This privately-owned museum located in the old town of Muscat is known for its fine collection of traditional costumes, antique jewellery and weapons. Continue to Muttrah Souq, which is one of the oldest markets in Oman, dating back about two hundred years. Shop for artefacts, antiques, traditional textiles and jewellery in the bustling lanes of the traditional Arabian market. Return to the hotel.
Day Three - Five
Enjoy Jumeirah Muscat Bay at your own pace. Spend your time lounging on the resort’s private beach, taking in the stunning views of the Gulf of Oman. The calm waters are perfect for swimming or just relaxing by the shore. Take a dip in one of the resort’s infinity pools, which offer spectacular views of the surrounding landscape and the sea. Visit the resort’s spa for a range of treatments including massages, facials, and wellness therapies. The serene environment and skilled therapists will help you unwind and rejuvenate.
Day Six
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the famous perfume manufacturer Amouage, where you will be greeted - quite literally - with a touch of fragrance. This company has been around for about 35 years (no sales event). Off-road crossing of Wadi Al Arbeieen, one of Oman's most beautiful wadis. The wadi is located around 90 minutes outside of Muscat. It provides nature's ultimate soundtrack, the sounds of running water, birds and the wind funnelling through the narrow channels.
Photo opportunity at Wadi Shab. Fresh water cascading from top of the mountains meets the briny sea water on its banks, creating an environmental diversity unique to this wadi and making it stand on a pedestal of its own when compared with the other wadis (valleys) in the Sultanate. Arrival at the coastal city of Sur. Visit the dhow factory to see the construction of traditional wooden boats that vary in design and size. Thereafter take a photo opportunity at Al Ayjah lighthouse. Arrival at the entrance of Wahiba Sands (also known as Sharqiya Sands). The longitudinal dunes stretch 200 km long and 100 km wide until the Arabian Sea and have been home to the Bedouin for 7,000 years. You can venture up the high dunes and witness the unforgettable desert sunset, before gently driving through the sand dunes to reach the camp. Overnight at Wahiba desert camp.
Day Seven
Breakfast at the camp. Visit the enchanting Wadi Bani Khalid. Drive past the village with its endless date plantations until you reach the magnificent wadi. The pools are cool, deep and absolutely stunning. Feel free to plunge in and experience the crystal-clear waters. Overnight at Wahiba desert camp.
Day Eight
Breakfast at the camp. Continue to Wadi Tiwi, a spectacularly deep and narrow gorge carved out of the mountains, running between towering cliffs right down to the sea. The wadi is famed for its old traditional villages surrounded by lush plantations of date and banana. Stop at Bimah sinkhole, a deep natural depression filled with water. The locals say that a meteor fell on this spot resulting in the natural depression and forming a small lake. Photo opportunity at the fishing village of Quriyat, dating far back into Omani history as a vital sea port. It is well known for its stocks of kingfish and tuna. Transfer to Muscat Airport.
