Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp is located in the remote western-reaches of Serengeti National Park, on a by-water of the Grumeti River – known for its wildebeest crossings and large Nile crocodiles.

Breakfast
A sumptuous breakfast consists of platters of fruit and cheese as well as hot options such as eggs, oats and waffles. Or If you prefer then you could take a packed breakfast and prolong your morning game drive.
Lunch
Lunch is served on colourful decks overlooking the river and can be enjoyed after a quick nap or refreshing shower.
Afternoon Tea
Go for a dip in the camp’s pool or relax in a shaded area with a good book, then discuss the plans for your game drive over afternoon tea.
Dinner
Savour a delicious meal on the deck overlooking the river, with the dining area flowing out to a traditional African boma where dinner is prepared over open fires or outdoor ovens – both producing mouth-watering aromas.

Safari
Guests can take part in morning and afternoon game drives, hot-air ballooning experiences and day trips to Lake Victoria.
Game drives
The camp’s location beside the river makes it ideal for sightings of dramatic river crossings when the Great Migration is in the area. Even when the Great Migration is not nearby you will be able to view spectacular wildlife and enjoy a more un-interrupted experience due to the lack of other vehicles. The Grumeti River provides a permanent water source and attracts large herds of buffalo and elephant, amongst other animals. The thickets near the camp are also home to the colobus monkeys, which cannot be seen anywhere else in the Serengeti.
Lake Vitoria full-day trip
This full-day trip takes you to the shores of Lake Victoria and offers a combination of wildlife adventures, sightseeing, fishing excursions and cultural insight. Following a drive through the Serengeti to the park gate, you will then be given the option to stop and learn about the work of the Africa Foundation at Lukungu Primary School. At Lake Victoria you can choose to set off on a fishing safari excursion, pay a visit to the traditional doctor, enjoy a local dance performance or simply take in the surrounding landscapes. A picnic lunch is served before your return journey. Minimum of 2 guests and one month’s notice required. Additional costs apply for this activity.

Families
Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp welcomes families with children of all ages and offers the following facilities and services to ensure they have an enjoyable stay. Travel to Tanzania is recommended for children 8 years or older. Please note that children aged 5 years and under cannot participate in game drives. Children aged 6 to 11 can participate in game drives at the lodge manager’s discretion.
When available, booking an exclusive use safari vehicle means that game drives can be tailored for the shorter attention span of younger children, and it leaves and comes back to the lodge at any time.
