Discovery Centre
The Discovery Centre offers guests the opportunity to learn about the culture and wildlife of the Serengeti through a selection of exhibits and presentations as well as various documentaries played in a cinema-style lecture theatre. A photographic exhibition space also features photographic equipment for rent and an iMac with image processing software.
Guests at Four Seasons Safari Lodge, Serengeti can enjoy a half or full-day game drive; with the option to experience the wildlife either by vehicle, on foot or from a hot-air balloon.
A Walk in the Wild Serengeti
Discover the Serengeti through a 90-minute guided walk carried out by the lodge’s resident naturalist, Maasai guides and national park rangers. After learning about various animal tracks, insects and plants, you will then help install a camera trap to digitally record animals such as elephants, cheetahs, lions and leopards. This is then followed by a trip to the lodge’s Discovery Centre where you will review the images with an expert before creating a personalised photo collection.
Half-day game drive
Expert guides take you to discover the Serengeti on either a morning or afternoon safari.
Full-day game drive
Depending on the time of year and wildlife activity, a full-day game drive may take you in search of the ‘great migration’.
Full-day Ngorongoro Crater safari
The world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera, the journey to Ngorongoro Crater takes you across the Serengeti plains and then through Maasai villages and past Olduvai Gorge.
Hot-air balloon safari
Setting off at 04:45, hot-air balloon flights last around one hour and are then followed by a champagne bush breakfast. Recommended for children over 4ft 4”.
Walking safari
Led by the lodge’s resident naturalist as well as Maasai guides and armed Tanzania National Parks rangers, walking safaris offer a greater insight into animal tracks, insects and traditional plant use.

As well as a Discovery Centre where cameras and binoculars are available for rent, the lodge also features a ‘Photographer-in-Residence’ programme where you can learn expert tips from an in-house wildlife photographer.
